SFI Is Celebrating It’s 30 Year Anniversary!
30 years, One Moment at a Time
San Francisco Insight Meditation Community began in 1992 as a group of 8-12 practitioners meeting weekly to meditate in the living room of one of its original members. By 1996 the group had grown too large to meet in a home! As the years have gone by, attendance at the weekly Sunday meetings has grown, often reaching 175 or more each night.
Come join us as we celebrate you (our sangha) and what this beautiful practice community has grown into, with two special events this fall.
Saturday, October 29th:
Picnic in Golden Gate Park, 11am - 3pm
We’re having a community picnic at the Lindley Meadow in Golden Gate Park! The Sangha is the whole of the dharma and even better with pizza, games, prizes and fun. Come hang out for an easeful day with community, SFI teachers and Board and enjoy a great day outdoors. Just bring yourself! A side salad or a treat to share is optional.
Sunday, October 30th:
30 Years, One Moment at a Time, 6pm - 8pm
Join us for a special virtual evening on Zoom with guest teachers and speakers including Jack Kornfield, Thanissara, Ayya Anandabodhi, Ayya Santacitta and Frank Ostaseski, as we honor our evolution, discovery and awakening in this life. Take in the debut of a beautiful video on SFI’s service trip to South Africa. We will be making a special community announcement! Your unique presence is requested for this occasion.
